Signature Projects
Throughout my career, I have contributed to projects that extend beyond daily course maintenance- from championship tournament preparation and large-scale course restoration to agronomic innovation, operational leadership, and financial management. The following projects highlight the experiences that have shaped my approach to leading high-performing golf course operations.
East Lake Golf Club Full Course Restoration (2023-2024)

As Superintendent, I oversaw the construction phase of East Lake Golf Club’s full-course restoration, working closely with Total Turf Golf Services throughout the project. My role extended well beyond daily course operations as I was directly involved in the field execution and decision-making that brought the project to completion.
I laid out the fairway drainage throughout the property and designed the drainage layout for all bunkers. Working alongside the construction team, I ensured each solution performed as intended in the field. As conditions changed and challenges arose during construction, I was responsible for identifying issues, developing solutions, and keeping the project moving forward.
Following construction, I led the course through grow-in, reopening, and preparation for the 2024 TOUR Championship.
TOUR Championship Preparation and Volunteer Program
Over the course of my 9 TOUR Championships at East Lake Golf Club, I have led the golf course operation and preparation required to deliver championship-level conditions for one of the PGA TOUR’s premier events.
Beyond course preparation, I oversee the tournament’s maintenance volunteer program, coordinating the people and resources needed to support tournament week. I also lead the fundraising effort behind the program, raising almost $250,000 to help offset the costs associated with operating it.
The success of the TOUR Championship requires months of preparation, a tremendous team effort, and the ability to execute at the highest level when expectations are at their greatest.

East Lake Golf Club Grow-In

Following the restoration, I led the grow-in and establishment of the newly constructed golf course. We implemented an aggressive fertility and topdressing program along with regular verticutting and aerification to develop the turf and prepare the course for play.
At the same time, we were learning how to maintain an entirely new golf course. New mowing lines had to be established, daily maintenance practices refined, irrigation continually adjusted, and new weed pressures identified and managed as the property matured.
The grow-in required constant evaluation and adjustment as we transitioned from construction to daily golf course operations. Ultimately, our team took a newly restored property through establishment, reopening, and into championship preparation for the 2024 TOUR Championship and beyond.
